The Hazards of Smoking and the Benefits of Quitting
To say there are hazards associated with smoking would be a tremendous understatement. Those who smoke place themselves at serious risk of stroke, cancer, heart disease, and serious respiratory illnesses. The human body is not designed to breathe smoke so it should not come as much of a surprise that the body reacts quite negatively to the presence of smoke in the lungs.
Then, there is another serious issue that arises when one smokes tobacco products. The presence of nicotine is enormously problematic and troubling to say the least. It has been shown in medical studies that nicotine has the potential to activate cancer cells. Nicotine is also a poison and it should go without saying that anyone adding nicotine to their bloodstream is doing a disservice to their health.
Those that smoke two packs of cigarettes per day dramatically increase their potential for lung cancer. Anything more than even a “handful’ of cigarettes per day significantly boosts the potential for respiratory problems.
Your lung capacity will diminish when you are smoking and your cardiovascular condition will not operate at its full potential. This can certainly prove to be a drain on the quality of your life.
When all things are taken into consideration, it becomes a much wiser plan to quit smoking and take better care of your health.
